Pastor Dennis' Summer Sabbatical

Mark your calendars! Pastor Dennis will be on sabbatical this summer from June 21 through July 31, 2009.

Kids' Digital Scavenger Hunt Sat. March 21

On Saturday, March 21, all elementary and middle school Peace Fellowship Church kids are invited to a "Digital Scavenger Hunt"! Teams will work together to solve mysterious clues directing them to special spots on the Mall. At each spot, teams will take their group's photo, proving they solved each clue. We will depart from the VFW at 10 AM sharp and will return there by noon. Here are some important details:

• A signed church permission form is required unless you've already submitted one this year. You can get a form on our website: http://peace-dc.com/permission_form.pdf
• If you are a middle school student and attend Peace Fellowship regularly, you may bring one friend to the hunt.
• If you are in grades 1-4, you must bring one adult chaperone who will stay with you for the entire event.
• Please reply to Beth Dewhurst by Wed. March 18 if you are attending the hunt and if you are going to bring a friend so that we can be sure to have enough space in our cars and supplies for the hunt.

We are in need of a few digital cameras to borrow for this event (to be used by an adult). If we use your camera, we'd like to return the next day at church so that we can download the photos first.

Saturday, Feb. 7 ICE SKATING 2 – 5 p.m. Fort Dupont Ice Arena in DC. Cost: $5 age 13 & up ($4 age 12 & under) + $3 skate rental. +Download a permission slip

Saturday, Feb. 21 ROCK CLIMBING 3 – 6:30 p.m. Earth Treks Climbing, Columbia, MD. Cost: $16 for 3 climbs; Limit – first 5 students to RSVP!

A New Shepherd for the Holidays!

John and Carmen Shepherd became the proud parents of John Allen Shepherd, III (‘Tre’) on Wednesday, November 28th at 8:50 p.m. weighing in at 6 lbs. 2ozs. Congratulations John, Carmen, and Sidney!

Welcome to the Peace Fellowship Blog!

Hello friends. I’m hoping this can be a place where members of the Peace Fellowship community can post announcements, sermon audio, memories, and news about our community in a way that’s both easy to access and update. I’ve already added some of our previous newsletters and “community” articles to get things started.

I’m a firm believer that the most important aspects of our community happen face-to-face, but this page can become an easy way to share memories and information that others can see to learn about who we are.
